1. Contents of the kit
   
   A kit contains:
   
   *  a stamped tablecloth or runner,
   *  sufficient yarn,
   *  a large-square charted design,
   *  clear working instructions in English with 
       a colour legend.
   *  a suitable needle,
   *  a large colour picture.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
    

2. The stitches
   
   The stitches to be used in this design are indicated by number in sketches 1 - 8.  Not all these stitches will be needed in this design.
   
   
    

3. The colours
   
   The colours of the stitches or motifs are indicated by letters noted on the colour legend.
   
     
    

4. Cross stitch
   
   Embroider over the printed design and in order to avoid trailing strands at the back of the work, stitches of the same colour that are a distance away should be worked with a new thread.  The beginning and the end of the thread should be tucked in the back of previous stitches.  Never begin or end with a knot.
   Note for cross stitch design:
   Do not count the threads.  Embroider the cross-stitches over the printed design, so that the crosses lie directly next to each other.  Make a full row of half crosses first and then return along the row completing the cross.
